So we got down to work and the result has been some delicious French toast that have nothing to envy to the traditional ones.

To make French toast you can use any loaf of bread although you can also make a special bread made with care and affection.
To soak them you can use any vegetable drink. Here you have several options that you can also do at home in a simple way.
Orange, lemon and cinnamon are the traditional ingredients that our grandmothers and mothers have used to aromatize them. If what you want is a more innovative touch you can use cardamom or tonka bean as we did with these torrijas.
Surely now you are wondering...and the egg?. Well, very simple, we have replaced it with a mixture with chickpea flour. We have already used this idea in other recipes and it turns out very well.
The only difference you will notice is that the batter is not as compact as when using egg. In addition, chickpea flour gives it a crispy dot which is very rich.
