The red hummus incorporates the roasted pepper to the traditional Arabian chickpea paté

Ingredients

  • 150 g of cooked chickpeas
  • 1 roasted red pepper
  • 1 dried tomato (optional)
  • 1 garlic clove
  • the juice of half a lemon (25 ml approx)
  • 1 tablespoon of tahini
  • half a teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 25 ml of aceite oliva
  • hot paprika for dusting (optional)
  • toast to accompany

Preparation

  1. We drain the chickpeas and put them in the glass.

  2. Peel the pepper and garlic and add them.

  3. Add all the ingredients except the paprika and blend during 15 seconds at progressive speed 5/7

  4. We taste and rectify the salt. If we add salt, we mix 5 seconds at speed 3.

  5. We serve with the hot paprika sprinkled on top (optional) and the toasts on the side.

Notes

Tahina is a sesame paste, typical of Arab cuisine. You will find it in the international section of hypermarkets or in specialized stores. You can omit it if you can't find it, or replace it with 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds.[br]You can replace the roasted pepper with canned piquillo pepper.

    Ana ... Once again one of your Hummus is delicious !! I have loved the pepper flavor along with the chickpeas. Sensational its flavor and texture. One thing ... For speed, convenience and ease I have used canned roasted peppers in strips, a total of 150g, perhaps it was not much. Be that as it may, thisaaaa deliciousooooo. Thank you!!

      About the peppers you ask me, by quantity I see it well, a medium-sized red pepper weighs more less that. What happens is that the canned ones have less flavor, put 200 to enhance the flavor of pepper in the hummus.
      A besazooo !!!
