Puff pastry with figs and brie cheese

Today we bring you a spectacular recipe so you can succeed this Christmas: Puff pastry with brie cheese and figs, an appetizer or starter that combines perfectly with the creaminess of the cheese, the natural sweetness of the figs and the special touch of Modena vinegar.

It is an ideal recipe for these dates because its Presentation is beautiful And, as for its flavor and texture… the puff pastry gives it that crunchy touch that makes this dish irresistible! The best thing of all is that it is quick and easy to prepare, perfect to show off without spending hours in the kitchen… and even more so at Christmas… when we have so much to prepare and so many people to look after.

Puff pastry with brie cheese and figs, an appetizer or starter that combines perfectly with the creaminess of the cheese, the natural sweetness of the figs and the special touch of Modena vinegar.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (can be rectangular or round)
  • 200 g of brie cheese (you can also use camembert if you want)
  • 4-5 fresh figs (or rehydrated dried figs if you can't find them fresh)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts or almonds
  • 1 egg (to paint the puff pastry, optional)
  • a splash of Modena cream

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 °C with heat from above and below.

  2. We spread the puff pastry sheet on a baking tray with baking paper. We prick the base with a fork (we leave the edges unpierced)

    Cut the brie cheese into slices or medium-sized pieces and place them on the dough. Wash and cut the figs into thin slices and place them on the dough as well. Sprinkle with the nuts of your choice. Leave the edges free so they rise when baked.

  3. We beat the egg and paint the surface of the puff pastry so that it remains golden and shiny during baking (this is optional) and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden.

     

  4. Remove from the oven and add a splash of Modena cream.

    Let it cool for a few minutes before cutting and serving. This puff pastry is perfect both hot and at room temperature.
