I tried this dessert for the first time at my aunt Vicen's house at a family meal. It is a very simple flan to prepare, in less than a quarter of an hour we have prepared a delicious dessert, especially for coffee lovers.
It is a recipe that once prepared needs a few hours of cold to set well. Although I like to do it in the evening and take it the next day. It is also important for set well the flan, that the envelope of royal flan that we add is 8 servings, if it is 6 we run the risk that it will not curdle.
You have that touch of coffee which is ideal for after eating or as a snack. Since I am a sweet tooth, I added a little more sugar than the one indicated by my aunt, but that already goes in tastes.
In my house, if I tell you the truth, we are not very coffee growers. Even my husband, without hearing me, I will tell you that he continues with his Colacao®, but we all liked the flan a lot, although yes, for non-coffee growers I advise you accompany it with cream.
Coffee can be soluble or coffee maker, the one that you usually do. But if you make soluble coffee you must have mixed it with water in the proportion indicated by the manufacturer.

I usually make this flan too, it's very tasty, but I don't like coffee either and I make it with cola cao or nesquik whatever I have at home, I put a small glass of milk in it and add the nesquik until it's quite dark.

you have to add a little more sugar so that you have a soft flan. You can also reduce from 150 to 100 g or use some other type of sweetener that is not sugar but I would add something to it because otherwise the strong flavor will ruin your dessert.

Coffee can be what you consume at home. You can make it soluble mixed with water or from a coffee pot.
As for the sweetness, I don't think it's because of the coffee, but rather because of the flan envelope. Have you seen if it already had sugar? It is that sometimes they sell them with incorporated sugar, then of course, if we add the 150 grams of sugar to that and we are not very sweet ... we climb the walls !!

Maybe something wrong with the scale? The only thing I can think of is to do some testing with your scale and make sure it is on a flat surface.
